Maximum disinfection, maximum safety and protection

UV Ray has developed and manufactured a system for the food industry.
The system is designed to for the disinfection of cups, lids and foils.

The UVC System

Using advanced ray-tracing simulations of a typical 220 ml dairy cup (100 x 70 x 50 mm3) at a distance of 20 mm from the quartz glass window of the UVC unit, the system demonstrated excellent light distribution, ensuring effective disinfection of the cup's bottom and walls.

Many different cups, ranging in volume from 70 ml to 500 ml, were disinfected at a distance of 20 mm from the UVC unit using different power levels and exposure times.
Prior to disinfection, the cups were sprayed with Aspergillus brasiliensis and Bacillus atrophaeus. Log reductions of 2 to 5 were achieved, depending on cup shape, timing, and the UVC unit's power level.

Perfect Disinfection of Lids

Ray-tracing simulations of our UVC unit, incorporating the exact lamp position and reflector geometry, demonstrate excellent coverage of a typical lid with a diameter of 95 mm positioned 40 mm from the quartz glass window.

  • Lids with diameters of 95 mm, 117 mm, and up to 130 mm, manufactured from aluminum, PP, PET, and fiber-composite materials, were successfully disinfected and validated in microbiological labs with Aspergillus brasiliensis, Aspergillus carbonarius, and Bacillus atrophaeus.
  • The lids were treated at a distance of 40-80 mm from the UVC unit, with exposure times ranging from 800 to 1,800 ms.
  • Log reductions ranging from 2.8 to >5 were achieved, depending on the microorganism, exposure time, and test method.
Made for Fully Automated Yogurt Lid Disinfection

The lids are transported into position within a few hundred milliseconds and remain stationary for 800-2,000 ms, depending on the lid and cup sizes.

UVC Medium-pressure Disinfection System
